Founded in 1992 as a spin-off of the Université libre de Bruxelles by Professors Philippe Vincke and Marc Pirlot, together with Pierre Jacques, Decis was initially focused on diverse optimization projects, in collaboration with researchers and PhD students from the Department of Mathematics
Soon after, Denis Dresse and Emmanuel Van Rossum joined the company, which gradually moved away from its academic roots to focus on business solutions, and specialized in scheduling software and digital mapping from the 2000s onwards.
The acquiring group, Lisam, is a Belgian company with an international presence, recognized for its regulatory and compliance management software as well as its cloud solutions. The group includes Hemmis, specialized in tailored software development, as well as Dinec International and Dinec Assembly, experts in access control systems and electronic assembly, and Megabytes, an IT company focusing on management software, infrastructure, security, and consulting.
Lisam recognized Decis’s growth potential, which will be further enhanced by the group’s support and the synergies with its subsidiaries.
Denis and Emmanuel will remain active after the transaction to ensure a smooth transition and guarantee continuity for clients and staff.
Many thanks to Denis Dresse, Emmanuel Van Rossum and Pierre Jacques for their trust, and congratulations to Thierry Levintoff and Michel Hemberg (Lisam) on successfully closing this transaction!
