dbBase has been selling and distributing accounting software and hardware since 1996. It also provides IT support for its customers, with a particular focus on service quality.  

From its headquarters in Manage (Charleroi region), the company supports more than 800 professional customers, mainly SMEs and accountants based in Hainaut, Walloon Brabant and the Brussels region.   

With no family buyer, the company’s directors, Yves Cornet and Denis Mahieu, asked FB Transmission to help them find the best buyer. Several candidates came forward, and in the end the 4 Business Software (4BS) group was chosen.  

4BS is a leading provider of IT services for businesses, based in Duffel (Lier, Antwerp). Like dbBase, 4BS offers accounting solutions such as WinBooks and Exact, as well as a wide range of IT services.   

Already well established in Flanders, 4BS is taking an important step in its expansion with this acquisition, which will enable it to strengthen its presence in Wallonia and offer its services there on a larger scale.
